About Rowan EDC
The Salisbury-Rowan Economic Development Commission (EDC)
was formed in August of 1984, as a non-profit organization.
The organization began with the goal of improving the overall
quality of life for residents in Rowan County. They felt this
could be done through the promotion of a vital economy within
the dynamics of the region consistent with the preservation
of desirable local characteristics.
Today, the organization
works hard to attract new industries, and to assist existing industries
expanding their operations in Rowan County. In addition, the EDC
also works hard to improve and enhance the lives of all citizens
in Rowan County.
The following are
just a few of the many services that are available through the
Salisbury-Rowan Economic Development Commission:
- In-depth profiles of communities and county.
- Information on population,
labor force analysis, labor costs, taxes (state & local),
utilities, support services, transportation, educational institutions
and major manufacturers and additional information that would
secure a successful location.
- Inventory of available
industrial sites and buildings for evaluation.
- Maintains contact
with local government and state agencies that may assist the community.
- Maintains strict
confidentiality between the EDC and all prospective companies.
